Placement Criteria/Eligibility for Admission

   The following criteria is utilized in determining placement in the program:
The candidate must:
-
be between the ages of 3 and 22(years of age)
-
must qualify for Level II funding
-
have sufficient medical stability to allow the student to access the program
-
be a resident of Moose Jaw Public School Division #1, Thunder Creek 
School Division or the Moose Jaw Catholic School Division.

Referral and Placement Procedure

   Referrals for entrance into the program will only be received from the
sending school jurisdiction. No referrals will be accepted from individual
parents unless tehy are channelled through their respective systems. 
Referral forms will be provided. Referrals are to be submitted to:

   Upon receipt of an application, the admissions committee, comprised of:
1.
Superintendent of Student Service
2.
School Principal
3.
Developmental Teacher
will meet and evaluate the assessments and accompanying data for the
purpose of deciding whether the candidate would be best placed in this 
program. A representative from the sending jurisdiction may be invited 
to attend a meeting of the admissions committee to review the 
application.  If the necessary assessments are not included or if they
have not been done, the committee will request the sending 
jurisdiction to have these completed before a final decision is reached.

   Assessments for placement in this program should indicate that the 
child has:

been checked for hearing and vision
-
had the appropriate psychological and educational tests(Alvin Buchwold
Centre, Wascana and other recognized agencies)
